Perceptions of IPM

IPM program introduced to Indonesia in the Guidance on the MT 1976, due to BPH attack on the MT 1975. Since then IPM began discourse, since the implementation of the IPM concept is unclear and still under validation in the field. Application of IPM on MT 1986 began with the circulation of a pesticide license revocation, and the launching of a 10 Supra Insus his stance D package, namely: (1) planting VUB, (2) the use of certified seed, (3) perfect tillage, (4) 200.000/ha plant population, (5) adequate irrigation, (6) balanced fertilization, (7) liquid fertilizer supplement (PPC) or plant growth regulator (PGR), (8) the application of IPM, (9) the appropriate cropping patterns , and (10) a good post harvest management. In fact, 10 pack D stance was seen as IPM technology itself (personal communication with A. Dudung Adjid, former Director General of Food Crops).

Entomologists and pathologists assign five IPM strategies, namely: (1) environmental sanitation around the crop, (2) the use of pest resistant VUB, (3) planting simultaneously, (4) the application of the cropping pattern (for me mutus life cycles of pests and disease-causing pathogens, and (5) the use of pesticides wisely. In practice, IPM then misinterpreted synonymous with zero pesticides, because not giving pesticides wisely taught in SL-IPM. Understanding that IPM is identical with zero pesticide irrelevant to the reality in the ground. If planting in unison at the right time is so critical stadia rice fall when high populations of natural enemies, planting time in the field is determined by planting groups (group allocation of irrigation water.) If an area gets a water allocation during peak moth flight, planting will risky, especially if the population is low stem borer natural enemies. Till now there is no rice varieties resistant to stem borer. Given this situation, pesticides should be sprayed with regard threshold control stem borers.

The linkage between the 10 components of the package moves to the D component of IPM strategies are shown in Table 1. In just 10 moves packets D VUB planting and cropping patterns are identical to the components of IPM strategies. The use of certified seed and good post harvest management indirectly related to seed quality and purity of the VUB. Tillage perfect indirectly facilitate planting in unison. Fertilization and irrigation will be enough to make a strong rice plants face the threat of disease. Population by planting plants that laid out like tiles modified with planting according legowo. How to make the plant more crops so open, uneven canopy surface and wind gusts cause turbulan, so the micro-climate is estimated to be less suitable for the development of disease-causing pathogens.
